Wind power forecasting is to estimate the expected production in the near feature of a wind turbine or wind power plants.
Forecast can be created for the different time scales depending on the intended use,
- Instant Forecast: The estimates used for the control of turbine for a few minutes.
Very short-term Forecast: The estimates of 0-6 hours used for the management of the power system.
Short-term Forecast: The estimates of 0-72 hours used for power system management and energy trading.
